She is the Senior Information Professional Consultant at LexisNexis dedicated to supporting government librarians across the country.

Marie Kaddell is a national and local speaker on library topics including Web 2.0, social media, podcasting, and government library trends. She spoke at SLA in Toronto in 2005 as a panelist on the topic of blogging and RSS. She was a panelist speaker at a jointly sponsored DC/SLA and Military Librarian’s Group program exploring podcasting in libraries in May 2006, presenting a Listening and Viewing Guide to Podcasts for Librarians. She co-presented a CE workshop at SLA 2007 in Denver entitled: Podcasting 101: Leveraging Podcasting in Your Special Library. In 2009 she was a panelist the SLA CE full-day Web 2.0 workshop: Toolboxes for Info Pros together with Karen Huffman. Podcasting 101: Leveraging Podcasting in Your Special Library. In 2009 she was a panelist speaker at SLA in a program sponsored by the SLA Knowledge Management Division: Conversation, Collaboration & Community: Something for Everyone. In 2009, she presented the FLICC Learning @ Lunch Program: Web 2.0 & Social Media in the Workplace and Beyond. She was an official conference blogger for AALL, ALA, Internet Librarian and SLA in 2007; ALA Midwinter, CIL, SLA, and AALL in 2008; CIL, SLA, and AALL in 2009. Marie has also co-facilitated several DC/SLA and SLA unconferences in 2009 and 2010.
Marie is a member of the SLA Learning 2.0 Workgroup. She developed the RSS, Newsreaders, Flickr, and Flickr Mashup & Third Party Sites modules for SLA's 23 Things released in June 2008.

Marie Kaddell is the SLA Division of Government Information (SLA DGI) Chair Elect. In 2009, she was the SLA DGI PR Chair and a SLA/DGI Communications Committee Advisory Board Member. Prior to that, she was SLA/DGI Membership Chair. She is the DC/SLA Click U Coordinator, 2009 - 2010. She was Chief Editor of the DC/SLA Chapter Newsletter:DC/SLA Chapter Notes from January 2001 - June 2002. Marie is web mistress and advisor to the board, MAGNUM, The National Migraine Association. She has also been a judge for the annual Putting Our Heads Together Poetry Contest, 2006-2009.
