The Government Info Pro Blog is authored and maintained by Marie Kaddell, M.L.S., M.S., M.B.A. Marie Kaddell has over twenty-five years of experience in the library and information science field with a special focus on law librarianship and technology in libraries. She is the Senior Information Professional Consultant at LexisNexis dedicated to supporting government librarians across the country.

In 2007, Marie was named the LexisNexis Federal Consultant of the Year.

Marie Kaddell also podcasts on topics of interest to government librarians on the LexisNexis Government Info Pro Podcast. Marie Kaddell is a national and local speaker on library topics including Web 2.0, blogging, podcasting, and government library trends. She spoke at SLA in Toronto in 2005 as a panelist on the topic of blogging and RSS. She was a panelist speaker at a jointly sponsored DC/SLA and Military Librarian’s Group program exploring podcasting in libraries in May 2006, presenting a Listening and Viewing Guide to Podcasts for Librarians. She co-presented a CE workshop at SLA 2007 in Denver entitled: Podcasting 101: Leveraging Podcasting in Your Special Library. In 2008 she co-taught the SLA CE full-day Web 2.0 workshop: Toolboxes for Info Pros together with Karen Huffman. She was an official conference blogger for AALL, ALA, Internet Librarian and SLA in 2007 and at ALA Midwinter, CIL, SLA, and AALL in 2008.

Marie is a member of the SLA Learning 2.0 Workgroup. She developed the RSS, Newsreaders, Flickr, and Flickr Mashup & Third Party Sites modules for SLA's 23 Things released in June 2008.

Marie Kaddell edits and compiles the annual Best Practices for Government Libraries collaborative document. Titles include: Web 2.0 in the Workplace and Beyond Professional Development Managing Your Resources, Meeting Diverse Information Needs Across Your Agency, Partnering with Your Agency to Provide Information, and Library Week Best Practices for Federal Libraries. She authored the articles:

• Bite-Sized Professional Development in SLA Legal Division Quarterly, Fall 2007
• RSS - Syndication for Real People Right Now in BITE: Bulletin of the Information Technology Division of SLA, Nov/Dec 2003.
• Her articles have appeared in The One-Person Library: A Newsletter for Librarians and Management and she has been a guest author on the LexisNexis Information Professional Update.

Marie Kaddell is the SLA Division of Government Information Membership Chair and an SLA/DGI Communications Committee Advisory Board Member. She was Chief Editor of the DC/SLA Chapter Newsletter:DC/SLA Chapter Notes from January 2001 - June 2002
