Washington D.C. Area Information Professionals:
As the DC/SLA Click U Coordinator, I'd like to share information with you about an upcoming Click U session. Click U sessions are a great way to keep up professionally. The sessions are free to SLA members but you do need to register to attend the locally hosted session in DC. Registration information is provided below.
Here's the program description:
Program: Ask the Copyright Experts - International Copyright Law
Presenter: Frederic Haber, Copyright Clearance Center
Program Description:
This informative session will provide an in-depth discussion of the challenges associated with using and sharing content around the world and across borders. Speakers will discuss whether "international copyright law" truly exists and will review the Berne Convention, national treatment, and obtaining global permissions for the use of copyright-protected content. The highlight of the session will be an interactive panel discussion featuring a cross-section of copyright experts. This session is ideal for librarians around the world who oversee the use and sharing of content in highly collaborative business environments.
